“Wonder”ful Gak– how did we do it?

So is everyone wondering how we made that fabulous goopy gak that you brought home from Day 2?  Well – here’s the secret recipe – take a bottle of washable school glue, and  pour it into a bowl.  Then mix 4 teaspoons of Borax laundry booster powder into a cup of water – stir until it dissolves.  There shouldn’t be any Borax left in the bottom of the cup. Now the fun begins – slowly pour some water into the glue.  As it reacts, the glue will start to become rubbery – use your fingers to work it around and continue to add water until it gets as rubbery as you want it to be.  Then remove it from the bowl of borax/water mixture and keep smushing it around in your hands!  It will get better the more you play with it… store it in a plastic sealed baggie when not in use.
Tips and Tricks:  To make it glow:  Mix some glow in the dark paint into the glue before adding the water mixture to it.  To make it different colors – add some food coloring to the glue before you add the water mixture to it.  Be sure to blend any additions thoroughly…  Most importantly – Have FUN!  Love – MS Becci.  By the way – if you check the Back to School Sales going on right now – you may just get a GREAT price on some glue – Lots of GAK could be in your near future!  :)
